Some love stories don’t begin with a proposal, they begin years earlier.

Joyce and Jonathan are high school sweethearts whose relationship grew through the seasons of life before culminating in a beautiful waterfront wedding at the Davis Islands Garden Club in Tampa, Florida. Their story was one of friendship, commitment, family, and a love that stood the test of time.

Our journey with them began before the wedding day. For their engagement session, they wanted something different from the traditional beach or park setting. Together, we created a modern and urban-inspired session on a downtown Tampa rooftop parking garage, capturing dramatic city views, sunset skies, and the playful connection that makes their relationship unique.

When wedding day arrived, the focus shifted from modern and editorial to intimate and timeless. Surrounded by family and close friends, Joyce and Jonathan exchanged vows during an outdoor ceremony overlooking the water before celebrating the evening with heartfelt speeches, emotional family moments, and a reception filled with laughter, dancing, and love.

One of the things we enjoyed most about working with Joyce and Jonathan was helping tell their story from beginning to end. From planning their engagement session to creating a personalized photography timeline, our goal was to preserve not only how their wedding looked, but how it felt. The result was a gallery filled with genuine emotion, beautiful portraits, meaningful family interactions, and the quiet moments that often become the most treasured memories.

This project is a wonderful example of what we love most about wedding photography: documenting real relationships, celebrating family, and creating images that allow couples to relive one of the most important days of their lives for years to come.
