From Snapshots to Spotlight: Sickles Softball Media Day

When the families of the Sickles High School Softball team wanted something more than traditional school sports photos, they partnered with Beza Media to create a professional media day experience for the athletes.

Our goal was to give each player the same level of attention and quality often seen in collegiate and professional sports photography while keeping the experience affordable for families by photographing the team together during a dedicated media day.

For this project, we brought our full professional lighting system to the field and utilized multiple lenses and shooting styles to capture a variety of looks, from dramatic athlete portraits to authentic team interactions. Timing the session near sunset allowed us to combine beautiful natural light with professional lighting techniques, creating dynamic images that stand out far beyond standard sports portraits.

The session included individual athlete images, team portraits, action-inspired poses, and creative group photographs designed for social media, yearbooks, family keepsakes, and team promotion.

The response from families exceeded our expectations, with more than 1,100 image downloads from the gallery. Parents appreciated the elevated look and professional quality, while the athletes enjoyed seeing themselves represented in a way that reflected the hard work, dedication, and pride they bring to their sport.

This project is a perfect example of how professional sports photography can be accessible, memorable, and impactful when designed around the needs of a team and its families.
